This Request for Proposals, as may be amended from time to time by Addenda (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the City to prospective and qualified Proponents to submit proposals for South Fork Water Treatment Plant Shop Space Upgrades, as further describes in Section 4.0 the RFP Particulars.

The Nanaimo Water Treatment Plant is located in a forested area at 2500 South Forks Road about 12km southwest of Nanaimo City Center. The facility, which opened in 2015, provides safe drinking water for the 100,000 residents of Nanaimo. It operates 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The Plant is located on a 62 acres site that includes the water treatment building, water pond, wetland and storm pond, and clear well. The water treatment building includes offices, meeting rooms, control room, labs, and various water processing rooms. A fenced yard is located north of the building and provides outdoor storage for the facility. Visitor and staff parking is located to the west of the yard near the front entrance to the building. 

Deliverables Overview:

The Nanaimo Water Treatment Plant upgrades includes four distinct components:

1. New 2,000 Square Foot Storage Building
2. Workshop Space
3. Access Gate Upgrades
4. Front Entrance Upgrades
