The works generally consist of: 

1. the upgrade of approximately 440m of 150mm dia. concrete pipe to 200mm dia. HDPE DR17 by pipe bursting; and
2. the replacement of all sanitary services, connections, manholes (where shown), and all works incidental thereto as shown on the specifications and drawings.

This Invitation to Tender is subject to the Canadian Free Trade Agreement, Chapter 5, and the New West Partnership Trade Agreement.

Tenderers are encouraged to attend a Non-Mandatory Site Meeting. This meeting will be held at the intersection of Vancouver Avenue and Cypress Street starting 1:00pm local time, 2023-FEB-28.

Questions related to this tender are to be submitted to the Purchasing representative through the Bidding System only by clicking on the “Submit a Question” button for this specific tender opportunity.

The deadline for questions is 3:00 p.m. local time in Nanaimo, BC,on 2023-MAR-08. Questions received after this date and time may not receive a response.

ELECTRONIC TENDER SUBMISSIONS ONLY, shall be received by the Bidding System up to 3:00 p.m. local time, 2023-MAR-14. Hardcopy submissions are not permitted.

Tenderers are cautioned that the timing of their Tender Submission is based on when the Tender is RECEIVED by the Bidding System, not when a tender is submitted, as tender transmission can be delayed due to file transfer size, transmission speed, or other technical reason. 

For the above reasons, it is recommended that the Tenderer allows sufficient time to complete their Tender Submission and to resolve any issues that may arise.  The time and date of the submission shall be determined by the Bidding System’s web clock.

If Tenderers encounter any problems, they should contact bids&tenders support listed below at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the closing time and date. 

The Bidding System will send a confirmation email to the Tenderer advising that their tender was submitted successfully.  If you do not receive a confirmation email, contact bids&tenders support at support@bidsandtenders.ca. 

Late tenders are not permitted by the Bidding System.
