The City of Nanaimo is seeking Proposals from qualified Proponents to construct a world-class BMX track where Riders of all levels can practice and compete in the sport of BMX. The track will have an amateur and professional level Race Tracks, allowing new riders an opportunity to be introduced into the sport, while the professional level track will allow the City of Nanaimo to host USA BMX and BMX Canada Events.  

The construction team must include a Specialty Shaper with experience building BMX Race Track turns, jumps, and applying and compacting asphalt (or approved equivalent) turns is required. The Specialty Shaper must have project experience building major BMX Track facilities with start hills for both 5M and 8M and final grading and shaping experience using a polymer-based additive to the tracks surface.
